Chasen – Bamboo Matcha Whisk

A traditional bamboo whisk used to prepare Japanese matcha. Its fine, flexible prongs help blend matcha powder smoothly with water and create a light, even layer of froth.

The Chasen is designed for gentle whisking rather than stirring, helping you prepare a smooth and well-blended bowl of matcha.

How to Use a Bamboo Matcha Whisk

  1. Place your matcha powder in a matcha bowl.
  2. Add a small amount of hot water.
  3. Hold the Chasen lightly and whisk briskly in a back-and-forth W-shaped motion.
  4. Continue whisking until the matcha is evenly blended and a fine layer of froth appears.
  5. Add the remaining water and whisk gently again.

How to Care for Your Chasen

Rinse the whisk with clean water after use and allow it to air-dry naturally. Avoid using soap or placing the bamboo whisk in a dishwasher. Do not leave the bamboo whisk soaking in water for an extended period.
